About Dentastic

Dentastic is an intuitive smartphone application for Android and iOS, which is designed to promote good oral health habits for the general population. Dentastic offers a unique and innovative function devised to remind, motivate, and reward users for their daily commitment to oral hygiene practices such as brushing, flossing, and partaking in annual dental exams. Ultimately, Dentastic is designed to increase the overall oral health and well being of the general population by helping its users adopt healthy oral hygiene habits and through monetary incentives, which lower the costs of dental treatments.

Our Mission

Dentastic is a dental application company devoted to encourage the general population to adopt healthy oral health habits, to teach proper dental hygiene techniques, and to minimize the high costs of dental treatments. Dentastic is fully committed to promoting oral health and improving the overall health of its users. We give patients the proper tools to live healthy, to enjoy life and to take care of their teeth. It is only by working together with your dentist that you can achieve a healthy smile. With Dentastic, it’s like having a dentist with you everywhere that you go.

Market Need

There are roughly 4 billion people around the world who use a mobile phone and only 3.5 billion people who use a toothbrush. In the United States, 25-30% of the population brushes their teeth once a day or less, 20% never flosses and 52% flosses occasionally. Studies have shown that gum disease is a leading cause of tooth loss and is associated with other chronic disease, such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes, obesity, arthritis, Alzheimer’s disease, and cancer.

Furthermore, dental hygiene is the most important aspect of oral health. If everyone could achieve effective hygiene measures, there would not be any cavities, gum disease or any need for dental treatments. It has been reported that 80% of US adults agreed that taking care of one’s mouth, teeth, and gums are absolutely essential, yet only 33% claimed to do an excellent job of taking care of their teeth. This discrepancy is perhaps due to insufficient education or lack of proper motivational tools. There is currently a need to develop newer incentives and means to help patients take care of their oral health since the traditional motivational methods have failed.
